“They Can Put Ravens’ Defense On Its Heels” – Analyst Tips Cleveland Browns For Major Upset – EssentiallySports

It’s been a rough couple of years for Cleveland Browns and their extensive fan group. The drafting of Heisman Trophy winner, Baker Mayfield, in 2018 was supposed to be the start of a new era. But things have not gone as expected in recent years.

After a decent rookie season, Mayfield had a rather forgettable 2019 season with the Browns. They ended the season on a 6-10 record. In addition to that, there were also some off-field controversies that hampered their season last year. However, the exit of former coach Freddie Kitchens and the arrival of Kevin Stefanski could signal the start of something new this year.

Analyst favors Baker Mayfield and Cleveland Browns for a win against Baltimore Ravens

On Tuesday’s installment of FOX Bet Live, host Rachel Bonnetta was joined by “Cousin Sal” Iacono, Clay Travis, and Todd Fuhrman. The latter spoke about Cleveland’s chances heading into this weekend’s clash against Lamar Jackson-led Baltimore Ravens.

“I think Cleveland is one of the most undervalued teams in the NFL going into the season. Now, in steps Kevin Stefanski who provides a little bit of stabilization moving forward as a head coach compared to Freddie Kitchens. The best way that Cleveland can remedy a defense that let them down last season is by playing ball-control and establishing Kareem Hunt. Getting Nick Chubb a ton of touches…so if Baker Mayfield can operate off play action, I think they can put this Ravens’ defense on its heels a bit.”

“Plus, when you talk about divisional underdogs in Week One, this has been a recipe for success…I think Cleveland fits the criteria I’m looking for. Give me the Browns here plus the seven-and-a-half against the Ravens,” Fuhrman said on the show.

While Fuhrman does make some valid points, it is interesting to note that the Ravens start the 2020 season as firm favorites to make the playoffs once again. Jackson is coming off the back of a stellar 2019 season. He bagged the NFL MVP award by unanimous vote. Coach Jon Harbaugh will hope that his star quarterback can lead the Ravens to a win in Week One.
